Public Engagement

  • Before UCL, I worked at the Institute of Art as philosophy editor. I commissioned public-facing articles, lecture series, and debates. My main role was to organise the programme for the HowTheLightGetsIn where world famous thinkers debate the biggest questions twice a year in front of a public audience. It’s great – you should go!

  • I’m beginning to write in public facing spaces about all things philosophical:

What’s the point? Still Point (2020)
Have philosophers made progress? What is it that philosophers do? Here, I discuss some views on what philosophy is and how we can think about progress in philosophy.

  • Beyond that, I frequently speak at schools including Dulwich College and Notting Hill & Ealing School. Topics include:

The nature of philosophy, Philosophy at University, Whether morality is real, Egoism, Personhood

Philosophy is for everyone and interest in philosophy extends far beyond academic circles. I engage with a variety of public engagement activities. If you’re planning some, let me know!
